JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE Central Design Engineering provides high quality, cost effective, on schedule design services for the Entergy Nuclear Fleet. Design Projects, which resides in the Central Design Engineering Department, is responsible for providing requested modification packages to the Nuclear Fleet. Modification design control is maintained through effective configuration management of design output documents (e.g., specifications, calculations, drawings, test requirements and procedures). JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES oPrepare cost-effective modifications as assigned to improve plant performance and reliability. oPrepare engineering products consistent with defined standards, procedures and regulatory guidelines to ensure the site's design and licensing basis is maintained oAssist in the solutions to issues that impact safe, reliable operations and propose process changes that improve overall efficiency. oProvide technical support to operations, maintenance, engineering, and other fleet organizations. oManage engineering work assignments to ensure the design service provided is meeting department and organizational needs. oCommunicate to all levels of the organization, verbally and in writing, technical information, concepts, and ideas throughout the engineering product development. oAttend training and maintain qualifications necessary to perform required group function. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Minimum education required of the position B.S. Degree in Engineering or other closely related scientific discipline / physical science generally associated with power plant operations, or equivalent work experience (equivalent experience is defined as demonstrated success at the Engineer / Technical Specialist level.) Electrical I&C Experience Highly Preferred Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position Technical understanding of nuclear generation principles and operations. Outstanding communication and conflict management skills. Proficiency with current computer business applications. Desired:
Functional Knowledge - Requires understanding and application of procedures and concepts within ELECT/I&C discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines. oExperience with preparing and/or reviewing power plant electrical drawings, calculations and equipment specifications. oExperience with plant electrical power system analysis software such as ETAP and EDISON. oExperience analyzing relay coordination and working with Time-Current Coordination curves (TCCs) and arc-flash hazard assessments. oExperience with selection and application of electrical components including motors, transformers, protective relaying, breakers, inverters, large lead storage batteries, battery chargers and inverters oPrior performance of design related calculations (voltage drop, breaker coordination, load study analysis, instrument uncertainty setpoints, etc.) oPerform Battery sizing calculations oExperience modeling motors and doing transient analysis for plant equipment. oFamiliarity with instrument specifications, instrument data sheets, calibration sheets oAbility to read and interpret P&ID's, schematics, ladder logic oFamiliarity with Distributed Control Systems, HMI, and PLC applications oDigital modification experience in commercial nuclear power (Hardware/software database point mapping, Requirement traceability, Software testing oFamiliarity with EMI/RFI analysis oFamiliarity with Cyber Security requirements and solutions in commercial nuclear power oUnderstanding of license basis considerations (UFSAR, Technical Specifications) and regulatory requirements (e.g., Reg. Guide 1.97) as they intersect with instrumentation Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position Desired:
SRO license or certification; Professional Engineering license.
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
